Using Traveler's Notebook Sized Papers on 12x12 Layouts with Nicole
With each new release from Traci Reed Designs, I keep finding myself drawn to the Traveler’s Notebook papers. I’ve always loved the smaller prints available in 6x6 paper pads and now the 6x8 paper pads. The patterns are sized down for me, I can fit two patterns side by side on a letter sized paper for printing at home, and for me there are no rules in scrapbooking.
I print at home on a letter sized printer, so my max print size is 8.5x11. This does not stop me from making the most of digital/hybrid/print at home materials. The travelers notebook papers are sized perfectly when I open them in Photoshop Elements. I create a blank document, drag and drop two patterns onto the canvas so they are side by side, and print with a borderless edge. I repeat this for all the patterns I think I want to use - and I tend to select way more than I need because there are too many good options. This is the second layout I created with Bookish, and I used the scraps from the previous layout in this one, as I wanted to create a messy and layered stack of paperwork type feel to this layout.
With the Bookish release, Traci also designed a template that is made to be printed and used as an actual tracker. Instead of doing this, I selected my favorite two pages (the pie chart and reading goals) and used the one as another pattern paper, and the other to house my printed journaling.
To include “photos” of my 2024 reads, I went to Storygraph. This is an app that I use to track everything I read throughout the year, and I love the ease of use and different charts and graphs that show more insights into my reading over the entire year. I took screenshots of the different data, as well as ALL of the covers for everything I read. I took these screenshots and opened them in Photoshop Elements and cropped them into approximately 4”x8” sized prints to be sized similarly as the travelers notebook papers and tracker pages. I then tucked in various stickers from the Bookish sticker downloads.
If you are hesitant to try printable scrapbooking papers, I highly recommend trying the travelers notebook size options in Traci’s shop.
