Donna - Jack & Skelly
This is my take on Sketch 55 using Traci’s newest digital kit, Jack & Skelly. I usually look for photos first before I create a layout, but in this instance, I started embellishing the layout as per the sketch and searched photos after. I decided to convert the photos on the left/right into black and white and left the middle in color so it doesn’t clash too much with the color palette of the kit. As always, I love to add lots of layers and clusters of embellishments to my layout as you can see in this layout.
Becky - Bountiful
My first thought when I saw the sketch was to create a 12x12 layout and then I thought of my October Occasionally album and decided to have a go at adapting it for that. I chose Bountiful to use as it’s such a beautiful collection and I had quite a few pieces left over from a previous project! Adapting the sketch to 5.25” x 8.25” was actually quite easy and I just left off an embellishment cluster and changed up the width of the different strips of paper in order to get them to fit. I also made my middle photo slightly larger so that when it got cut in two I didn’t cut through anyone’s face! I was really happy with how this turned out.
Caroline - Jack & Skelly
I’m enjoying working in my October Daily at the moment. My album is at 6 x 8 so I decided to adjust the sketch and use it for one of my entries. I also decided to work with the current Jack and Skelly collection as I just can’t stop!!! I could have reduced the photos down in size but instead I opted to simply go with one photo, (the central photo of the sketch) And then work around that..
I opted for distressed paper layers as a background and removed the two background circles instead placing my embellishments in a circular configuration in each of the two main embellishment clusters. I loved working with this sketch and I’m excited to see what the rest of the team have done with it. I hope you join in too!
Luly - Cider Season
I loved using Traci’s sketch to document the kiddos trip to the apple orchard. I used Cider Season as a great jumping off point the colors and the motifs in this kit are perfect for all your fall activities. I always have more photos that I want to include on my layout so I copied the photo and the mat and resized it and added an additional photo on the bottom right corner to get in just one more cute pic of the kids eating apples.
The kit includes so many different elements that you can use for apple picking, harvest Festival, pumpkin patch and family gatherings around Thanksgiving as well.
Torey - Jack & Skelly
This was such a fun sketch to document my fun themed mugs for spooky season, so of course I had to use the newest Jack & Skelly release to do just that! I didn’t make a ton of changes to the sketch this time around because I liked it so much. I removed a few of the embellishment ideas, just to simplify the sketch a bit more and to fit my personal style. I also added some fun ellies to the background to add a little pop of color that matched my title and the stars I used to embellish and, finally, I changed up the journaling style a bit so it looks a bit more spooky. I’m super pleased with my results using this sketch and can’t wait to get this fun layout into my October Daily album!
