December Daily 2024 | Day 02
Following my ornament story from yesterday, December Daily Day Two is all about using my grandmother’s ornaments from the 60s on our tree for the first time ever. We’ve had them for over a decade, but my kids were too small, or the tree was on hardwood, or they didn’t match the theme of our Christmas for many years, so they’ve never been taken out of their boxes!
Well this year is the year, since my youngest has deemed this year’s theme “tacky Christmas” and they match our painted ornaments perfectly!

I decided to work with another photo enlargement for this page (a common theme in my December Dailies and one you will see a lot this year) but instead of making it the whole page, I instead printed it at about 8.5x5 and added a large scalloped edge with my Silhouette machine. I repeated that scallop with the candy cane stripe paper from the Oh, What Fun! collection and then backed the whole page with the ornament paper from the FWP Bonus papers offered during the Black Friday Sale.
Lastly, I altered the ornaments from the Oh, What Fun! sticker set over my page with numbers from an older holographic glitter Thickers set and a single gold word strip so as not to detract from the actual ornaments in the photo, but rather enhance them!
I paired that side of the page with one of the 3x8 dividers from the Oh, What Fun! collection that I enhanced with fibers and sequins and stitching in this reel. I think it’s the perfect addition to this spread in its own tacky way too!
Finally, I printed my journaling on vellum and stitched it to the 3x8 divider with red thread to make a full 6x8 page. I also stitched some metallic green ricrac to the outer edge to make the page easier to turn and more sturdy - plus it’s cute! An acrylic glitter snowflake at the bottom of my journaling completed the page.
