Don't You Have a Hobby?!

Of course you do! Today on the blog for Theme Thursday, we’re celebrating our OTHER hobbies! Besides crafting, I love being a plant mama, reading and running! Cathy, Stephanie and Tara are all sharing their hobbies below!

Cathy - Keep Chasing Rainbows

Like many of us, my hobbies are what keep me balanced. Often it feels like therapy and I helps me feel a bit lighter. As a working Mom of three, it’s always a struggle to find the time. Do you pick laundry or sewing? A scrapbooking retreat or a cheer competition? I am learning to put myself first but I also realize that I am in a stage of life where I have to accept that even 15 minutes will do the job. I miss it terribly some days. When I get the chance to sit down, it’s such a gift.

This page is about those emotions. I enjoy the background patterned papers of the Keep Chasing Rainbows collection. I use them often. The embellishments were also from the same collection. Since one of my hobbies is sewing, I decided to be sure to add some stitching on the page giving it a nice texture. I really enjoyed doing this hybrid page!!

Stephanie - Ex Libris Galaxias

Last week on the blog, I created circle embellishments using the Ex Libris Galaxias collection. This week, I will be sharing a 12x12 layout of how I used them. I paired those cluster embellishments with 3 photos of my boys all reading. This is a hobby I have loved sharing with them. It started with me reading as a child to reading to them when they were younger to now, watching them soak up adventure after adventure on their own.

I have to say I enjoyed how fast this layout whipped up since my embellishments were already created. Another memory now on paper that I get to relive over and over again.

Tara - Ex Libris Galaxias

Hi everyone! Tara here with Secretbees Studio I have a few things I like to do besides crafting and my favorite is definitely reading! For as long as I can remember, I have loved books! They are so magical to me and have taught me so much!

When it comes to favorite books, I could go on and on and on.... but I do have a few select ones that have really made a place in my heart. These are books that stay with me long after I have finished reading them. Books that make me think and wonder and make such an impacting impression that I will never forget them. This little mini is dedicated to just a few of those!

Of course, the perfect Traci Reed collection to use for this hobby scrapbook is the Ex Libris Galaxias collection. Traci is also a book lover and it definitely shows with the great quotes, sentiments and amazing images and papers of this collection.

I made the mini from chipboard and then added a rounded paper spine to give it more of a book look and to hide the metal rings. Some of the pages are made with 3x4 journal cards from the collection while others are cut from the gorgeous paper designs.

There is a fabulous array of blank tags and labels in this collection which allows plenty of room for journaling and such fun sticker images for just the right embellishment! There are some great black and white stamp images in this collection as well- perfect for any book themed project!
