Seven Days of No Stress December Daily Prep: Day One!
December Daily and other daily projects like it can be…stressful. The comparison is REAL and we can get lost in trying out allll the new techniques and stress ourselves out to the max trying to “keep up” with the community. I get it. I get caught up in it too. That’s why for the next 7 days I’m going to be bringing you video each day with pages using simple techniques - no special tools required - that you can add to your album to liven up your pages WITHOUT going crazy and adding stress to your already busy and stressful holiday season.
Use these ideas as-is or as a jumping off point for more complex pages if you wish!
Today I’m going to be using the Citrus Twist Kits Jingle All The Way Kit, Jingle All The Way Printable Cards, Jingle All The Way Digital Paper, and Jingle All The Way Digital Elements to make 4 foundation pages and then 4 3x4 cards using the scraps accumulated from those pages!
I created what could be used as an album cover page first by using a card stock hinge to make a foldover flap to include that “stories of the holiday season” bookmark. Special touches include that fun ribbon trim sandwiched between the card and the paper on top to add a pretty edge to the flap and “2022” on the outside of the flap using the chipboard numbers from the kit!
I was inspired by the “From the Desk of Santa Claus” 6x8 paper to create a spread paired the “jolly saint nick” 3x4 card..
To jazz it up and make the card my own, I added the “naught/nice” stamping from the CTK stamp using Catherine Pooler ink
One thing I love doing in my December Daily is creating see-through pockets with sequins. For this page, I used the 2x2 pocket page and added sequins to just the middle four pockets, sealing with my fuse tool to keep them in there (you can also use tape.)
On the outside, I glued the”jingle all the way” die cut piece.
I wanted to create a simple base page like I had in my October Daily, so I added a green houndstooth border that pretty bow paper, creating my own bow with ribbon wrapped around the page. A simple page I can add whatever I want to!
As I gathered up the scraps from these pages, I realized I didn’t have too many scraps that I could make 3x4 cards out of, so I adapted by using some of the more simple cards from the kit and altering them. I also made a card from torn small paper scraps - I love using up the tiny bits and pieces that would otherwise get tossed!
