Scraplift Saturday - Hybrid Team Member Cassie

Hey Hey! It’s scraplift Saturday and today we’re lifting Cassie the queen of paper layers! Seriously though, one glance at Cassie’s gallery and you’ll see she makes AMAAZING use of paper layers and the lifts from this challenge do as well!

Donna - Love Potion

After browsing Cassie’s IG feed, I finally chose this layout. I always gravitate toward layouts with shapes or wreath designs so this is no wonder. I made several circles to mask the patterned papers I chose to use. Instead of the trees at the bottom of the layout, I used the flowers and hearts in the kit. I also took the liberty to add more extra elements and placed them strategically in the layout.

Bruna - Strong AF

I love layouts with circles so I chose this one of Cassie¥s to scraplift. The colors and flowers in the Strong collection are beautiful so I wanted to use it, so I decided to challenge myself and do a complete out of theme layout with it. And I love the result!

Nikki - Love Potion

It was so fun to scroll through all of Cassie’s amazing layouts! There were SO many to choose from but as soon as I saw this layout with the cut pieces of paper, I knew that was the one! I love being able to add in as many patterned papers as I can! I wanted to stay true to her design with the strips and photo placement however I decided to use one of Traci Reed’s 3”x4” journal cards as my title instead. I just LOVE them all and they perfectly tell my story! I am usually one to create hidden journalling but this time I stuck with the sketch and followed along with writing on hearts. Which is perfect because this months Love Potion collection is full of them!

Shayla - The Manuscript

This layout by Cassie caught my eye with all the patterns she mixed together. I recreated the look of this layout digitally by using The Manuscript collection. The original layout uses lots of bold coloured papers, but I decided to diverge by using a much more subdued, almost monochromatic colour palette for my version. The mix of different patterns still captures the flavour of Cassie’s original layout.

Danica - The Manuscript

Cassie’s gallery was a lot of fun to look through. Many of her layouts have bold dynamic titles because she uses cut files for them. I think this is a great way to create a title for your layouts. I finally picked this layout because it had the large heart on it, and it made me think of Valentine’s Day which had just happened a few days ago. The majority of my page was created with The Manuscript collection but I did use the word “forever” from Traci’s Love Potion kit.  I liked the font forever was created with so I knew I wanted to use it on my page somewhere. I created a template to help me with the vertical strips and I clipped all the different papers from The Manuscript including some signature papers to it. At that point I came up with the phrase for my title but it didn’t look great in the position Cassie had hers in. So I flipped my whole page horizontally so that the heart was on the left side of the page instead of the right. And yes I flipped my papers back to their original orientation. I created my title using a script (Traci’s forever) and a couple of non script fonts. I made sure to make them overlap slightly to give them a cutfile look. To finish it up I added some trim bordering the vertical strips of papers and some florals by my photos. I really love how my page turned out and I thank Cassie for the inspiration!
