Pixels 2 Paper with Tai - Enhancing Faux Glitter!
Hello scrapping friends! Tai with you today on Pixels 2 Paper! Today I will be showing you how to have a large title along with a little mixed media. When working with a digital collection and designing it into a physical layout, I love scrolling through the entire collection and finding elements that WOW me.
For todays title I choose the word ‘Merry’ in the All Is Calm collection Traci released this holiday season. I love the alternation colors of the letters and enjoyed the glitter effect on them. She had a few other words in the collection and any would work for a layout like this.
Once I selected my bold title I made sure I knew the measurements to fit in a TN vertically. I initially had the idea to repeat it so that I can glue together for a more dimensional element. But, once I was cutting it out I enjoyed the repeat look of it and it fit nicely with a little of overlapping.
I simply chose two patterned papers I enjoyed, so choosing any in the collection would work as the entire collection is flawless in coordinating.
Once I chose a photo, I made sure to print it 4x4 but to occupy more room, I also included two more photos at a 2x2 dimension to fit perfectly underneath the larger one.
Now for an easy mixed media effect, I grabbed my glossy accents (but any clear wet glue will do) and the Mica Flakes from Ranger. I decided to jazz up the bottoms of the letters so I added a tiny bit of glue and then a pinch of the mica flakes right on top. I was generous in all my spots of the letters. This part does get messy. And in my opinion the more the merrier. I have used these Mica flakes in a few other projects this month and I am in love with the luscious, chunky, glittery, opally, textured yumminess it provides.
The simple mixed media effect is impressive. Please pick up some mica flakes for a mixed media layout soon. I love how this TN layout turned out and that bold title with mica flakes steals the show.
I will provide a process video over on my YouTube channel so you can see it all come together. Thank you for joining me and have an amazing day,
Tai
