Use Your Printables to Create a Fun Shaker Cover Page with Torey

Hi Friends!

Today I wanted to share how I used the Oh What Fun! collection to create a shaker cover page for my December Daily 2024 album. Since we want this to be a shaker page, we aren’t going to be using regular paper for our layout. We will be using some printable transparency paper and printable vellum.

First let chat about supplies. You can use what you have on hand, but here are the supplies I used:

- Grafix Ink Jet Film (Transparency Paper)

- Grafix Printable Vellum Inkjet

- Recollections Specialty Glitter

- Mondo Llama Tiny Gold Stars

- Puffy Numbers from my stash

I also used a plain piece of regular vellum over the plaid vellum, just to add a bit more stability to my shaker page.

The hardest part of this project is picking out your patterned paper! I chose one of the plaid papers from the collection to use as my background and also created a ‘paper’ by layering together some of the Ellies in Photoshop. I wanted to create a border around my page and my title, and this was the perfect way to do that. For my title, I printed out the green and red lightbulbs.

Once you have your patterns picked and printed, you will want to line everything up and prepare to sew your papers together (you can also tape everything together or adhere the pages in a different manner, but sewing was easiest for me). I like to use sewing clips to hold my papers together while I am sewing, so nothing moves around.

Make sure to leave one side of your page open, because this is where we will add our shaker mix in. I like to leave the top of my page open. Once you have 3 sides of your shaker page closed, all you need to do now is add your mix and then close the last part of your page.

Once my shaker element was finished, I popped up each of the red and green lights on some foam squares and places my puffy numbers on each lightbulb. Here is how my finished page came out:

Thank you for joining me today! I hope this post helps you create some fun shaker page in your albums!
