October Daily 2022: Days 1-5

SISTAHS! It's time for October Daily! Every Day on instagram I’ll be posting a process reel with a new page in my album and then every 5 days or so, I’ll round them up here on my blog!

You can see all the pages individually and watch their associated reels below, and at the end is a YouTube Compilation video with all 5 reels!

Day 1

We kicked off spooky month with the premiere of the brand new Hocus Pocus movie and a ridiculously sugary witchy dessert board that needed to be documented!

I used one of the with the Spooky Stories Foundation Pages to make this page but I needed to add in some purple, so I also incorporated the Sweet & Spooky papers I designed for Catherine Pooler, which just so happens *wink* to match the adorable witchy insert I made the other day with my Toil & Trouble stamps I also designed for Catherine!

You can see the making of that insert HERE.

All in all, I'm really pleased with how it came out, even if I forgot to take any pictures of us actually WATCHING the movie.

Day 2

I couldn't resist documenting my adorable pup in her adorable costume! For this page, I used the back of the previous (2) 3x4 insert from my last page and one of the Goldenrod Foundation Pages I created!

I wanted this page to "wiggle" like my puppy wiggles when she wags her tail, so I used a brad to add a large tag and cut from the "Boo Eek" coverplate I designed for @CatherinePooler and my photo.

Underneath all that is another hidden photo of both my girls, as well as some fun embellishment. After it was all done, I decided I needed to add some color to that tag, so I splattered it with some ink from Catherine and it was the perfect touch!

Day 3

Although I think I much prefer Pride in the summer, it was super fun to get to add it to my October Daily this year! I knew we would attending Pride, so I created a fun rainbow page with the Goldenrod Foundation Pages in anticipation.

I wanted to include that large photo, but not lose the foundation page I already set up, so I decide to make the photo “open up” to complete the whole spread and title “Witching You A Happy Pride” which is *chefs kiss*

I needed to jazz up the large photo just a little bit, so I used some acrylic hearts from Color Cast Designs, taking care to make sure they they didn’t overlap when the page was folded so as not to add too much bulk, and then dabbed some iridescent stars all over the whole thing!

On the outside of the fold is my fave photo of my daughter and I that I turned into a pocket in which to put my journaling tag, the flag I made out of a paper straw + sticker, and the bonus sticker I just put in the pocket for funsies!

Day 4

My Day 4 spread is courtesy of my son’s field trip! He got to go to Dollywood for “science” so I got photos!

I made a cut file for my out of the Dollywood logo for a fun customized edge for the layout and, of course, teenagers don’t take the highest-quality photos, so I chose the best one I had to blow up really large to span half the spread.

To round it out, I added an insert in the rings that I created with my Goldenrod Foundation Pages and it has a little photo flip to hide the journaling (which I intend for him to write.)

The last thing I added was one more silly photo to the dead space in my photo on the right hand side and I decided to cover the remaining white paper with a yellow plaid from the Goldenrod collection.

Day 5

For Day 5 I documented some of my seasonal decor (a lot of which stays up year round) 😉

I had a fun 2x2 insert page I made in my foundation pages and lots of photos, so that sounded like a match made in heaven!

Since I was working with the BACK of that page that had Dollywood and I didn’t want it to be plain white, I decided to use some of my Catherine Pooler inks and create a wild background that coordinated with the black and orange of the left hand page (papers and cards from my Goldenrod collection) and then added some Nuvo texture paste through a star stencil I designed for an older Simple Stories line to add some interest and bling!

Lastly, I added some chipboard and letter stickers from my Citrus Twist Kits Spooky Stories kit and it came out perfectly!
