When I finished the Island Time collection, I just KNEW I had to make a darling mini album to document our upcoming Oahu trip this month! I landed on a banner album that consists of consecutively smaller pennants and it’s so fun and interactive! You can make your own with the class here!

Lately I have been loving creating some fun digital mixed media backgrounds with the beautiful patterned papers from Traci Reed’s collections! I created this background with the Island Time collection by bringing in some of the digital paint elements, dropping them on to the solid color paper, and then using the simple eraser tool to make the different elements blend. It gave it a really beautiful depth, didn’t it?! When I was ready to create my layout, I felt like a circle of flowers would be so pretty around the clouds. I printed and cut quite a few of the hibiscus and leaves, and then added them to the page using pop dots for even more depth. I also tucked in a few of my favorite icons, including the plane, the beach sign, and the adorable turtle and dolphin! The last thing was my photo of tiny Addison and Asher walking into the water at the Outer Banks, NC. All of this feels so dreamy, just the perfect way to tell this story.

Love documenting anything tropical and Traci Reed’s newest collection Island Time was perfect for my photos from last February’s adventure in Mexico!!

Okay… I adore the tropical vibe of this collection and have lots of ideas for island pages, BUT this collection also has enough general travel/vacation elements to work for more general project life spreads! I love how these pages came together using Island Time, even though they encompassed more than just our time at the beach!

Some of my favorite elements in the Island Time collection are the glitter drinks and the tiki bar, so I knew I wanted to create a layout using them. They were perfect for telling the story of my husband and I enjoying a yummy Dreamsicle on the beach. This collection is so fun! I absolutely love it.

I just love the various pattern papers in this kit and used several in making this layout by layering them in different ways. Of course, the flowers are perfect for creating clusters and I love how they made depth and interesting depth to the layout’s overall design.

I had such fun playing with the woodgrain paper, cutting the strips up, distressing the edges and then sticking them back down on one of the solid papers. I chose to make my photo black and white to contrast with the gorgeous colours in this collection and printed some of the stickers onto white glitter paper for a very sparkly effect!
