I wanted to create this layout of my friend holding her brand new grandson.  I chose four of the patterned papers to print and used my Cameo to cut and large crescent moon to be the centerpiece of my layout.  I also cut some clouds with my Cameo.  I hand-stitched the moon and the clouds, plus one of the stars. I mostly wanted the photo to shine so I kept the embellishments to a minimum but added a large acrylic title and stars too. I used plenty of foam adhesive to pop things up on the layout for some subtle texture.  I finished it off with four of the labels from the collection for some journaling.  Link to watch my process video…..

I wanted to create dark, moody layout to go with my night sky photos. I stuck to blue and grey background papers and only used red for my accents. The mason jar element is out-of-this-world adorable (pun intended) so I made it the star of my embellishment cluster. For my title, I used the silver balloon font for the word ‘Moon’ to add to that celestial feeling. The final touches on this layout were the glittery stars.

I LOVED using Over the Moon this time last year and so I was really excited to jump into it again. I decided to tell a story about my daughter which just goes to show you can use Traci’s Valentine’s collections to tell any sorts of stories about love – not just romantic love.

I always like to say, “you don’t have to stick to the theme of the kit!” but I’ll also be honest… I love a good theme, and I love leaning into a theme like Valentine’s Day with HEARTS and MORE HEARTS!  I loved this heart template from Sweet Shoppe, and the bold blues and reds from Over the Moon just popped! I love the florals in the sticker kit and in the main kit, so I had to sprinkle those around the heart … as well as the glitter sparkle stars!  I love me some digital GLITTER. :)

While Valentine’s Day/Love is really the theme of the kit and the sketch, I did cheat a bit and use photos from my 20 year anniversary… in December. But the spirit of the “love”  theme is absolutely still there, because we probably won’t get another date night until well past Spring ;)

This was such a fun collection to use and what I feel is the perfect colour scheme for January! Those balloon alphas are my FAVE!! (it might be hard for me not to use them on every layout going forwards - and there are more colour options too!!)

This week I wanted to create a layout in my scrappy spiral instead of a TN or 12x12 layout. I wrote about my daughters recent cheer competition and because its a digital collection I was able to write right on the journalling embellishment and add on the I love you flag, and print it all out as one, how great is that! I love the 3x4 journalling cards, the You Are Stellar sentiment was perfect, so I shrunk it down to fit and I really love how this all came together. It’s just another great way to document my stories.

I love creating lots of layers and depth in my layout. One way is to layer several papers. For my layout, I used one of the default shapes in my editing software to use as masks for my chosen papers. To create the title, I made the ampersand bigger than the wordarts “hugs and kisses”. I also converted my photos into black & white to make them stand out since the elements are already colorful.
