Focus On Anywhere But Here: Part Two
Anywhere But Here was designed in 2021 at the height of the pandemic when travel restrictions were just starting to ease and I wanted to be ANYWHERE but my own four walls! One of my favorite collections of all time, Anywhere But Here even got turned into the Away We Go collection for Echo Park and I recently created an “extension” of the collection called Weekender!
I was tired of vintage and dull travel collections, so the bright color palette of Anywhere But Here was my antidote!
Becky
As soon as I signed up to create a project for Anywhere But Here I knew I wanted to do a layout about my favourite place on earth, Mauritius. I’ve been once and loved it so much I am hoping to go back for my 60th birthday in 3 years time.
So, to the layout. I’d seen a few layouts recently using 4 squares of paper in a diamond formation so decided to replicate that idea. I chose several 6x4 patterned cards which I cut down to 4x4 squares and used these to create my diamond and to layer behind the photo. I used one of the frames from the digital embellishment to hold my photo - it has some layers and a torn notepad edge which I really liked the look of, especially once I’d added some more papers behind it. Before I stuck down my 4 squares I stamped around all the edges of them with a stamp which mimics straight stitching.
Once they were down I added my photo and went mad with the embellishments! I had plenty to choose from as I had printed and cut from both the sticker pack and the digital embellishments. There are so many lovely tropical flowers and other summery icons to use and I built up a couple of large clusters. For the title I used one of the journalling cards which I cut into a circle and mounted on foam for a bit of dimension. Some enamel dots, Nuvo drops and splatters using Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide watered down completed my summery layout.
Chantal
Chantal also went with a shape motif for her page using Anywhere But Here, more diamonds! I love how these two layouts are similar and yet so different!
Traci
I’ve used Anywhere But Here many times, as it’s one of my favorite collections, but to follow in the vein of using shapes on your layouts with this collection, I present this fun 6x8 using half circles!
Evy
Finally, I’d likes to show off one of my favorite layouts of all time from Evy using Anywhere But Here! I love love love her paper rolls here!
