December Theme: Family
December is a time for all the gatherings, so what better theme to tackle than Family? I love that all 4 projects created for this post use a different collection and approach a different facet of the family experience, from grief to breaking cycles, traditions to family photos, you’ll find all these approaches inspiring!
Erika - All Is Calm
Growing up, I didn't have a lot of family around. And it's the same now as my kiddos is growing up. One thing that's I've learned is that friends are the family that we choose. And we've been so lucky to have such precious people around us. I ran a friendship quote through my Cricut and color matched some Distress Oxides for fun. Then I create a whole collage of ephemera. I loved the challenge of using this holiday collection for something outside of that theme.
Heather - My Person
We had a family photo shoot a few year ago and this is one of my favorite photos that was captured. The photo includes my family, my brother and his family, my sister and her husband, and my mother and her then fiance who she has since married. It was a gorgeous fall day, and I wanted to do a layout that highlights how much I love these people.
I thought about using a fall collection, but decided to go with the My Person collection, because the love I have for them is what I really wanted to highlight. I created the title in silhouette studio using a quote that I had always wanted to use. I’m really pleased with how the layout turned out, and I hope that you all love it too.
Stacy - Goldenrod
I love the versatility of this collection because it has so much color and warmth in it!
I decided to make a photo flip on this page since I had multiple photos to include on a page from my daughters I had found in the early 2000’s and I didn’t want to not use the already printed 4x6 images .
Sometimes when you have multiple images a photo flip is the perfect solution! I also felt using the ellies and colors of goldenrod just felt like family!
Suzanne - All Is Calm
Last year my bonus dad died little less then a month before Christmas. So last year was a Christmas that we won’t forget, it was so nice to be together and to be grateful for eachother. I have used the all is bright collection and made a cluster. I cut out the word family from one of the design papers so it was a big title! The photo itself is slightly smaller then the page protector so the pretty design paper is just visable
