A HAUNTING Advent Project with Evy!
Hello creative friends, we are now approaching Halloween and I don't know about you, but I love this holiday! So when I saw the new Haunting collection I couldn't resist doing a new project. Every year I prepare sweet boxes, 3D decorations for the house, writings, haunted houses and much more but I had never prepared an advent calendar for Halloween. I don't know why it never occurred to me before! I was struck by Tia Smith’s beautiful project on Instagram for a framed calendar and wanted to make my own version using a large Ikea Ribba frame and Lori Whitlock's BOX MERRY CHRISTMAS VERTICAL silhouette file.
To make it I used 12 single-color papers (you can use the monochrome papers from the kit for a perfect match) and 12 different patterned cards. I printed and cut out all the stickers on cardboard and created some beautiful diecuts that could be overlapped and created volume.
I assembled and decorated the boxes using double-sided tape of different thicknesses and some elements from my stash: eyelets, ribbons... I then cut a cardboard cutfile which I decorated using pastes and Stain sprays from Tim Holtz's Halloween collection.
At this point I covered the inside of my frame with wall-effect wallpaper, glued the boxes, the title and the numbers and placed some sweets inside.
In true Trick or Treat style I fixed the boxes with velcro so I can change the position of the boxes 😊.
