5 Easy Details to Add To Your Hybrid Pages that aren't Mixed Media!

We all know sometimes your hybrid-only pages can feel a little flat, and usually, my go-to solution is to add mixed media (whether digital or real) but what if you’re not in the mood to get messy? Here are 5 techniques I used on this layout to give it more detail!

  • Print two copies of each flower and layer them together, adhering just the centers of the flowers with liquid glue. When Dry, fold up the top layer of petals so they fold away from the bottom - this creates and easy layered flower that’s more visually interesting than a flat one. Center with enamel dots if desired.

  • Roughen up the edges of your papers and labels to desired level to add texture and white edges to your papers.

  • Pop up some of your embellishments like titles or florals on foam tape to create shadows and visual interest.

  • Chain stitching in coordinating colors is a different and fun way to add color and texture to your page. The thicker stitches used in chain stitching adds more heft to the stitching line than a straight or machine stitch.

  • Bunched up embroidery flossing strategic places can add some fun messy texture to your page too. I coordinated my colors with the paper strips they matched.

And there you have it! 5 Simple and fun ways to add detail to your layout that isn’t mixed media!
