Make Your Printables POP with these 3 EASY ways to Add Texture with Tarrah!

When you create your projects using mostly printables, do you find that they are sometimes a bit flat on the page, with not a lot of dimension? Me too! So to rectify this I like to add some kind of texture and a small amount of mixed media too.

To add dimension, I will usually always add some machine stitching to the outside edge of the layout, for this layout I placed paper strip layers at the top and bottom of the page and decided to add stitching through these paper layers. Another technique I do to tags, if they are added to my project, is that I will punch a small hole through the top and tie a bow with some twine, this also adds some more texture and interest as well. I placed a tag to the right of the photo and did this exact technique.

For the mixed media techniques, I like to keep mine pretty subtle so I may add some sprinkles of colour and perhaps some watercolor around some edges. For this layout, I added some Kindyglitz to all of the snowflakes and I just love how it turned out! The Kindyglitz is a glitter glue and it adds the perfect amount of glitter to enhance the snowflakes and make them sparkle on my page. It dries pretty quickly too and you do not need much for it to make a great impact!

The Hygge Season/Winter collection was the perfect collection to document this wonderful photo of my sisters home in England covered with snow!  I hope you will try giving your printables some pop next time you are creating a project!
